Last night during the launch of the new publication DÚCHAS at IMMA (the Irish Mueum of Modern Art) we were honoured to share a preview of our upcoming documentary film DEAR ANCESTOR.
DEAR ANCESTOR is featuring Oscar-Nominated/BAFTA Winning actor Stephen Rea and will go into production next year.
This film is using a novel letter writing approach to create a cinematic conversation across time around the timely question:
‘In these times of ecological crisis, how can we tap into the transformative power of our imagination to seed a better future?”
We made a proof-of-concept short film for DEAR ANCESTOR entitled SEEDING THE FUTURE (also featuring Stephen) that premiered at the Galway Film Fleadh in July and is currently on the festival circuit.
DEAR ANCESTOR is an Anú Pictures / Tri Moon Films Co-production in Association with Field Day & WEALL (Wellbeing Economy Alliance) in association with DCTV, and funded by Coimisiún na Meán with the television licence fee.
The preview will be released on the internet in the new year.
